Tax Credit Can Be
Used on Closing Costs
FHA-approved lenders received the go-ahead to develop bridge-loan products that
enable first-time buyers to use the federal tax credit upfront: to help cover
their closing costs, buy down their interest rate, or make a larger down payment
than the 3.5 percent required by FHA.

Tag -- You're It!
This isn't the game we all remember playing as
children but a new and effective way to support affordable housing and
strengthen the housing market. Purchase a Homes4NC license tag and $20 is
donated to Homes4NC, which we put to work helping low-income families with their
housing needs.

Tax Credits Available for
First-Time Buyers
Most potential homebuyers know about the widely publicized $8,000 federal
tax credit for first-home purchases in 2009. What many don't know is that they
also might qualify for the NC Housing Finance Agency's
Mortgage Credit
Certificate program, which
provides an annual tax
credit for as long as they own the home. Read the full
article and download a copy of NCHFA's MCC
flyer.
